First experience with Mumps

Iraina went to bed on Friday night (1.8.2014) with a sore ear. I checked with her and she said it wasn’t inside but behind her ear so I didn’t worry too much about it.
Starting the next day we went through to pick my parents up from the airport and my sister called to let us know that Seth has Mumps and she didn’t want to put me in any danger with the baby. So we called the gynae, gp and googled and we confirmed all would be fine. So we spent the evening with them and noticed that the symptoms that Seth had were the same as what iraina was describing and the area behind her neck was starting to a swell and so we realised that she also has mumps. So over the last few days we have kept her indoors and watched her little face grow on either side as the virus works its way through her system. It’s so adorable but so hard to watch at the same time. But luckily they we’re vaccinated and it isn’t as bad as it could have been.

Here’s our little heroine.

I'm a woman finding my way through life as the wife of Tim, the mom to 3 growing kids and trying to maintain some sort of self through it all. I hope you enjoy reading how I journey with my troops through this thing we call life.
