Strategy in case of a “Disaster”

I don’t know about you, but I have moments when I just strategise what I’d do should a tragedy happen. Have you ever done that? Now, don’t get me wrong – it’s not in a “fear the worst” kind of way – it’s more like, “let’s just have a plan in case” kind of way. Now, before you think I’ve got some sort of problem that I’m trying to work through – I’m actually wanting to actually do what I’ve always wanted to do because of my “strategy plan”.Ok, whenever I’ve thought through the strategy – I think, what would I grab first? and the one thing I’d really grab are the journals that I’ve written to my kids when I was pregnant with them. If those things got stolen, wet, set on fire or got swept away in a flood – I would totally be disappointed in myself for not doing this sooner. I’m going to document those parts of my journals that actually might be something you could learn from and then email the rest to my kids. (I’ve made email addresses for them, that they can use when they grow up – when the moment arises I write thoughts to them. It’s like having a digital box of letters for them)

So, let’s mark today as the day I enter my first record from when I found out I was pregnant with Aislyn. To be clear, I wrote more about Aislyn because I didn’t have anything else to really do, so the notes for Iraina and Jude are fewer and will pop up as we go along.

“This is the week your heart is developing! I have just found out about you and your Dad and I are so excited! We pray that your heart would be healthy, strong, full of conviction, open to all and guarded when needed. We pray God would draw close to you and your heart would know Him soon. We love You and we want you in our lives!!”

That’s it – I then printed out the weekly updates I received for the development details.

I look at this journal and I can’t believe how much effort I put in for it. Looking at the next one, I can see I had a toddler running around. Then Jude’s one is online. Here’s his first entry. I hope you’re going to enjoy this journey down memory lane as much I have.

I'm a woman finding my way through life as the wife of Tim, the mom to 3 growing kids and trying to maintain some sort of self through it all. I hope you enjoy reading how I journey with my troops through this thing we call life.
