You’re probably wondering, what or who the bajongles is a Pappar? Some kind of teddy bear? LOL, nope – this is the name my father gave his grand children to call him. This being because my actual Grandfather has been alive this whole time – so we couldn’t have two Grandpa’s – and when we talk about Tim’s dad, we refer to him as Pa.
So my dad’s name, when the children are involved – is Pappar.
If I haven’t mentioned before, I’m saying it now – about what a joy it is for our children to have grandparents that are invested in their lives and also very active physically fit to enable them to do things with our children that not many other children get to do with theirs.
So I’m showing you the kind of thing that my father likes to do with his grandchildren. Today it’s basketball. Now, understand that our girls are not even the slightest interested in playing netball or any ball sports (why, I have no idea) but when they get in there and understand the rules and go for it – it’s hilarious to watch.
So, my folks have a mobile basket ball hoop and I love watching my kids go head to head with their Pappar. Next time they do this, I’ll take a video so that you can see how competitive it gets. Trust me – he doesn’t hold back in his skill and there isn’t cheating ever. (PS: My Dad has played international basketball, up until three years ago…… for Zimbabwe – so playing with him isn’t a joke)
