I know that your birthday was yesterday and to be honest it was a lot of fun – just like you. There is so much that has happened in one year and I so wish we had cameras following us every day to record the amazing things that you do and say.
Over this last year you have taught me – as your mother – to trust my instinct even more. You have taught me to be decisive about decisions with your needs. I have learned that your well-being is priority over just “hoping it will get better”.
I can’t even begin to explain how immensely proud I am to announce the celebration of our Iraina! Every time I get to this point in the year, I am in awe of how much growth, maturity, intelligence, strength, grace, confidence, beauty and so much more – that this precious human has acquired. I know that this is a blog post containing a lot of words, but once you know her – you know that there is no bottling her up or containing within sentences and phrases.
(as a disclaimer to those reading – I like to write these birthday posts as a letters to my children for them to read when they’re older – so I’m switching modes)
Today is the day that our oldest daughter turns 11. You know how people say you forget the pain of birth and all that jazz? Well, they’re wrong. I remember it like it was yesterday. I wrote out her birth story last year and it was a massive hit! Why? I honestly don’t know? I think the term “old” has to be used so lightly now because it’s always so relative. Anyway, before I go down the insane rabbit hole of giving my opinion on age – let me gush over this man I call best friend and lover. Continue reading “Happy Birthday Tim Feder”→
Today marks the 10th year that Tim and I have been official parents. This time 10 years ago we had Aislyn arrive into our lives and it was one of the biggest shifts for us as adults. Her entry into our world was something I will never forget. It tested all of my endurance – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. So, since today marks the day that our little girl arrived, I thought I would type out what I wrote down in her journal, that I kept throughout my pregnancy and ever since, as a life record/lesson for her future. So, here is her birth story. You should be warned, it’s long. (I didn’t use Facebook a lot then so I needed to document everything in words)
